JANUARY...
My dear photo-loving friend and her family braved a cold winter day (and a grouchy preschooler) to help us get some family photos of Sissy while she was still three months old. She did a fantastic job, despite less-than-stellar subjects. Here are some of my favorites and a few I took that day too...
FOUR MONTHS OLD...
At four months old, Sissy weighed in at 13 pounds, 3 ounces and was 25 inches tall! As the tummy troubles and rashes still plagued the poor girl (and her parents!), we found creative ways to get her to stop crying... surprisingly, she enjoyed hearing Daddy "talk tax" and Mommy sing hymns. The latter began as a joke, for supposedly Grandaddy used to sing Onward Christian Soldiers to Wes when he was a baby. So out of desperation one night I tried his method, and it worked! If only I knew more than one verse...
The dreaded drools began in full-force at four months. Much like her sister at that age, Sissy can drench a bib in no time! She also discovered her hands, which she found to be quite tasty... we had a brief scare that she was going to be a thumb-sucker like her mother was (Sorry Gamma!). Thankfully, Daddy (ever the dentist's son) stepped in quickly to encourage the paci over the thumb... and the paci won! WHEW! Dodged an orthodontic bullet there!
Sissy also began holding objects, laughing out loud when tickled, rolled over, and made the tough switch to some fancy formula at four months. Though her eczema and GI issues started to improve, the poor dear still had to spend most of her days (and nights) in knit mittens and hats to keep her from scratching her itchy face and head.
